Overview of the Indonesian knowledge sector

Summary

Overviews the institutional, contextual and regulatory environment of research and analysis that influence public policy development, defined as the knowledge sector, in Indonesia.

Description

The report overviews the institutional landscape of government, private sector, and civil society organisations that provide research and analysis to support the development of public policy in Indonesia, and highlights factors limiting demand for high-quality policy research. It provides an overarching framework and strategy map and some recommendations for future options.

The report concludes that Indonesia’s knowledge sector institutions and structures remain underdeveloped and that effective collaboration between stakeholders and shareholders will clarify supply and demand relationships.
