The AusAID logo and the Australian Aid identifier

The visual elements of the AusAID brand are portrayed through the AusAID logo, the Australian Aid identifier, the colour palette and ‘look and feel’. For the visual elements of the brand to work, they must be used consistently.

The brand is also an important part of AusAID’s commitment to the Australian people, and the people in the countries where Australia’s aid is delivered, to achieving greater transparency.

AusAID branding should only be used with the permission of AusAID. It should not be used to suggest a relationship where there is none.

AusAID crest logo

AusAID logos, inline and stacked versions

The AusAID crest logo is the primary logo. It signifies the AusAID’s place as an Australian Government agency and represents the organisation and its staff. Its use is governed by guidelines issued by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (link to PM&C) and is always used within Australia. It should also be used overseas to represent AusAID. It can be used inline or stacked, and can be produced in a dark solid colour or reversed-out white against a dark solid colour.

Using the AusAID crest logo

There are two versions of the AusAID logo—the stacked (above left) and the inline version (above right).

To save the logo onto your computer you should right-click on the link [Macintosh Ctrl+click], select 'Save Target As' or 'Save Link As', then save the file to your computer.

Australian aid identifier

AusAID Identifier

The Australian Aid identifier represents the product AusAID delivers—Australian aid. Aid products and activities overseas which have Australian Government aid funding can be recognised by the Australian Aid identifier. In some situations, for example in publications, both the AusAID crest logo and the Australian Aid identifier are used.

Using the Australian Aid identifier

The Australian aid identifier is used to badge Australia aid programs, projects and products overseas. It is also used in some situations in Australia. The identifier can be used in colour, in black or white, or in red and white against a blue background. Detailed information is available in the AusAID visual identity guidelines.

To save the logo onto your computer you should right-click on the link [Macintosh Ctrl+click], select 'Save Target As' or 'Save Link As', then save the file to your computer.

Australia Awards

Australia Awards logo

Australia Awards managed through Australia’s aid program consist of:

  • Australia Awards Scholarships
  • Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships
  • Australia Awards Fellowships.

There are a number of supplementary programs associated with Australia Awards Scholarships including the Australia Awards Leadership Program, the Prime Minister’s Pacific Program and the Allison Sudradjat Prize.

The Australia Awards program does NOT come under AusAID branding. The program has its own logo because it is a whole-of-government brand. Its use is governed by its own brand guide and style guide. The Australia Awards Secretariat is located in AusAID.

Guidelines

AusAID visual identity guidelines

Detailed visual identity guidelines have been developed to assist with AusAID branding. They are particularly useful for graphic designers required to implement AusAID branding as part of an Australian aid funded project. Templates are also available from publications@ausaid.gov.au for graphic designers contracted to undertake such work.

Guidelines for NGOs, multilateral organisations and managing contractors

Separate guidelines have been developed for non-government organisations, multilateral agencies and managing contractors. These guidelines are updated regularly to reflect current branding advice. Questions on the use of the AusAID logo and Australian Aid identifier should be directed to the AusAID Communications Section at publications@ausaid.gov.au
