The Australian Civilian Corps (ACC) is a new civilian capability that will enhance Australia's ability to meet requests for assistance from developing countries following natural disasters or conflict.

It is a register of civilian specialists experienced in disaster recovery, stabilisation and post-conflict recovery, who are able to be deployed quickly.

The ACC is a much-needed bridge between humanitarian and emergency response measures and longer term development programs. It complements AusAID's important work in the areas of emergency response and humanitarian aid, and provides another way for Australians to help out in times of crisis.

ACC register members are chosen for their technical skills and their ability to work in challenging environments. They come from all levels of government and the Australian community—and they will make a real difference to people’s lives.
