Period offersPeriod offers are agreements with contractors to provide short-term specialist services on an 'as required' basis. AusAID has access to around 250 consultants in a variety of sectors through period offers. The agreements provide the agency with quick access to the expertise of consultants in a range of sectors including education, health, infrastructure, and legal media services. Period offers are awarded through a competitive tender process and are signed for terms of up to three years and usually include an option to extend for a further two years. AusAID gives no guarantee of any minimum amount of work that may be offered to a contractor under a period offer. A period offer list is available, which includes the expected expiry dates for those agreements. A decision to extend existing period offers will generally be made in the six month period prior to the expiry date of a period offer.
