The Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF)
The Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF) funds the upgrading of roads in 10 poor provinces. Upgrading roads is easy, but ensuring their upkeep is harder. So PRMF encourages governments to invest in road maintenance and to change the way they do maintenance. It seeks to make local governments more effective in providing reliable roads, more transparent in their general operations and more accountable to poor citizens. PRMF will make it easier and cheaper for farmers to get their goods to markets, for children to get to school or for families to access hospitals.
