These examples of Australian aid at work are just some of the ways the
Australian Government's overseas aid program continues to reduce poverty and
improve the lives of people and communities in partner countries around the

- 1.5 million PNG children under the age of five have been immunised against
polio and measles
- Australia helped train 14,300 teachers and provided more than
604 000 text books to primary schools
- Peace-building on Bougainville helped bring parties to the negotiating
table during the civil conflict
