Text of narrative - wheat for Iraq

Voice-over with video footage of crane unloading wheat from ship into truck, spoken by Mr Bob Tyson Australian Ambassador to Kuwait, interviewed on wharf in Kuwait.

'Australia is making a strong humanitarian contribution to the people of Iraq and also we intend to play a significant and ongoing and an effective and constructive role in the reconstruction of the country.'

'This is the first major shipment of food for Iraq since the conflict began. It follows an appeal by the World Food Programme for urgent relief and as you know we have Australian officials on the ground here in Kuwait working with the World Food Programme to ensure that this wheat reaches the people in Iraq who are in most need. We will continue to monitor the needs of the Iraqis and we will continue to find areas where we can assist in meeting those needs and also assist in the reconstruction of the count.'
