The Maldives. The whole country of low-lying islands was literally submerged under the furious sea.
Proportionally the Maldives is the third most affected country.
Australia immediately provided four million dollars in aid, including emergency food and shelter.
An immediate priority - getting children back into the classroom.
And AusAID is funding 15 Australian teachers to work for several months alongside local teachers.
