RELIEFINSIGHT

Australia's international disaster response
in pictures

image montageRelief in Sight is a photographic exhibition about Australia's international disaster response in the Asia-Pacific region. It puts a human face on the suffering and the compassionate response of our nation to saving lives.

Sixty-eight compelling and confronting photographs capture the impact of natural disasters and other humanitarian emergencies and the crucial role of Australian aid workers and volunteers in the initial response and longer term rebuilding process.

The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) developed the exhibition with the help of its emergency relief partners and professional photographers.

The exhibition features a series of images of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami by award-winning Australian photographers Stephen Dupont and Rob Maccoll.

Relief in Sight will tour Australian capital cities and major regional centres from January 2007 to March 2008.

Suitable for all ages, we encourage everyone to visit this free exhibition and see for themselves the importance of Australia's emergency response to people in our region.
