AusAID-NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP)

The AusAID NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) is a funding program for Australian NGOs that have been accredited with AusAID. Under the ANCP, AusAID partners with Australian professional development NGOs, which have met rigorous accreditation standards, to implement their own development and poverty alleviation programs overseas.

To become accredited, agencies are required to undergo a rigorous assessment of their organisational structure, systems and philosophies. There are two levels of accreditation for NGOs, Base and Full. To be eligible for funding, NGOs must submit an Annual Development Plan each year and all proposed projects must adhere to the ANCP Guidelines.

The ANCP is currently undergoing a reform process.

The following fact sheets outline major reforms to commence in FY 2009-10 and those that require further consultation.

A revised Annual Development Plan template and an Interim Annual Development Plan Manual are provided below for 2009-10. More comprehensive reforms are planned for these processes and the sector will be consulted in the second half of 2009.

AusAID plans to replace the existing ANCP Guiding Principles and ANCP Guidelines with one document, the ANCP Guide. Until the new guide is in place,  in the event of any discrepancy between the new fact sheets and the older documentation, the fact sheets take precedence.

Further document revision will be communicated through ACFID, the Committee for Development Cooperation (CDC) and the NGO and Community Engagement (NCE) Section Newsletter.
