Safe water guide for the Australian aid program

publication cover Over the past twenty years there has been growing global recognition of the decline in readily accessible, good quality water resources. Managing water resources and supplying safe water are two of the greatest challenges for the present generation.

The Safe Water Guide is the Australian Government's framework for managing water quality activities implemented under the Australian aid program.

The framework outlines the steps that may need to be taken by activity managers, individuals and organisations when designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating water-related activities, particularly the provision of safe drinking water supplies.

It provides processes for identifying potential problems and managing risks to water quality in a developing country context throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
