Australian Development Research Awards

2008 Funding Round

AusAID is pleased to announce the results of the 2008 Australian Development Research Awards (ADRA) Funding Round.

A total of 417 high-quality development research proposals from Australia and overseas were received under the following nine themes:

  • Development Effectiveness
  • Disability
  • Economics
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Food Security
  • Gender
  • Governance and State Building
  • Health

ADRA Research Selection Committees shortlisted 72 applications, which were peer reviewed by Australian and institutional experts in the above thematic areas.

The ADRA Research Selection Committees proposed that 41 research projects be funded over the next three years, totalling over $12million.

AusAID was pleased to see applications from a wide range of research organisations and from a variety of countries, especially throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
