Competitive research funding schemes

AusAID elicits the best value and quality of research from its investment through competitive research grant schemes.

  • The Australian Development Research Awards are AusAID's flagship research project funding scheme. The Awards fund investigator–led, applied research on emerging and priority themes. Eighty primary research grants and eighteen systematic reviews have been granted through the four rounds to date.
  • The International Seminar Support Scheme (ISSS) supports participant attendance at development orientated seminars in Australia and overseas.
