Asian-Pacific Economic Literature

Asian-Pacific Economic Literature is published by the Asia Pacific School of Economics and Management at the Australian National University. The journal includes literature reviews, policy review papers, book reviews and abstracts of journal articles on all aspects of development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Asia Recovery Information Centre (ARIC)

This joint Australia-Asia Development Bank initiative provides relevant, accurate and timely information and analysis on the Asia economic crisis and the region's recovery process. ARIC is an internet-based information exchange mechanism located within the Asia Development Bank.

Australian National University (ANU) Indonesia Project

The ANUANU Indonesia Project, located in the Department of Economics, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, is a major centre for the study of Indonesian economic development. The Project aims to create and sustain a high level of interest in Indonesian development among senior officials and opinion leaders in both countries, support and promote high quality policy debate and dialogue on Indonesia and contribute in a practical manner to Indonesian development. The Project also produces the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies.

Centre for Democratic Institutions

Centre for Democratic Institutions (CDI) aims to harness Australian and international best practice in support of developing countries' needs for democratic governance. CDI focuses its work on strengthening parliamentary and judicial processes, the media, and the participation of NGOs in civil society. CDI was established as an Australian Government initiative and receives funding through AusAID.

Development Studies Network

The Development Studies Network is an independent organisation which encourages discussion and widespread exchange of knowledge of global social and economic development issues, development-related research, and international development assistance policy and practice. The Development Bulletin is the Network's quarterly journal on significant and topical development issues. AusAID provides ad hoc funding for editions of the Development Bulletin on topics relevant to AusAID's program and policy priorities.

East Asian Bureau of Economic Research

The East Asian Bureau of Economic Research is a forum for high-quality economic research focussing on issues facing the economies of East Asia. It comprises representatives from Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia.

Pacific Economic Bulletin

The Pacific Economic Bulletin provides background analysis in economic and policy developments in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific island countries. The Bulletin is published by Asia Pacific Press at The Australian National University.

Regional Economic Policy Research Facility (REPSF)

The REPSF is a funding mechanism which allows the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) to engage ASEAN and Australian economic research organizations, including public and private sector research institutions and qualified economics consulting firms, and individual researchers to provide regional economic policy analysis for the Secretariat.

State, Society and Governance in Melanesia Project

The State, Society & Governance in Melanesia Project (SSGM)is the leading centre for research into contemporary issues of governance in Melanesia. The SSGM Project's key objectives are to: encourage scholarship on governance and state-society relations; generate dialogue throughout Melanesia and the Pacific Islands on these issues and assist in bridging policy and research. AusAID and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade provide financial support to the Project.

Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research

The Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) is an Australian Government statutory authority that contributes to the aid program objectives of advancing Australia's national interest through poverty alleviation and sustainable development. ACIAR funds research projects that are developed within a framework reflecting the priorities of Australia's aid program and national research strengths, together with the agricultural research and development priorities of partner countries.

Global Development Network

The Global Development Network (GDN) is a network of research and policy institutes that develop and promotes policy-relevant research capacity, in developing and transition countries. GDN activities include research competitions, global research projects, annual conferences and an internet-based resource (GDNet) that provides online tools and services to support researchers from developing countries in their work and to help disseminate their research. AusAID is a major supporter of the GDN.

The Global Development Network incorporates 10 Regional Network Partners located in both developing and developed countries. Australia is located within the Oceania Development Network (ODN) with the South Asia Network of Economic Research Institutes (SANEI) and East Asian Development Network (EADN) also active in our region.
