ADS Pre-Departure Project
Objectives: To prepare Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) awardees for tertiary study in Australia through the provision of intensive in-country training and to place them in appropriate courses with ongoing support.

Project Components:
- English Language Training - To provide a high-quality and cost-effective ADS Training pathway which allows awardees to achieve appropriate English language skills levels, as measured by the IELTS, for living and study in Australia.
- ADS Support - To efficiently and effectively provide administrative and HRD support throughout the Vietnam ADS cycle, including screening, shortlisting, promotion, placement, mobilisation, monitoring of students’ progress and outcomes, in-country support for returned graduates and human resource capacity building in targeted institutions working in priority sectors.
- Project management - To facilitate project effectiveness through efficient project management services
Outcomes:
- A maximum of 750 ADS shortlisted candidates will be provided the pre-departure training during the life of the project (about 150 candidates per each year).
- A maximum of 750 ADS shortlisted candidates (about 150 candidates per each year) will be arranged for award placement offers, and award mobilisation effectively. In addition, the project will be responsible to administer IELTS tests, handle award variation requests, and arrange ADS advertisement and promotion, student counselling on course selection, post award monitoring and support. All these services will comply with the current version of AusAID’s ADS Operating Guidelines.
- An effective project coordination mechanism, project management system and quality assurance strategy were established and implemented
