Vietnam–Australia NGO Cooperation Agreements

The Vietnam–Australia NGO Cooperation Agreements (VANGOCA) program is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation with Vietnam, as outlined in Viet Nam Australia Development Cooperation Strategy 2003–2007 [PDF 335KB].

The program is a partnership between AusAID and Australian NGOs, linking NGO programs and expertise to Australia's overall development cooperation strategy for Vietnam, so as to ensure the Australian Government's funding of NGOs in Vietnam is effectively targeted to development priorities. The program engages AusAID and accredited Australian NGOs in sharing their experiences and approaches to address emerging development challenges in Vietnam.

The overall goal of the VANGOCA program is to contribute to poverty reduction and achievement of sustainable development in Vietnam in accordance with AusAID's Vietnam Country Strategy.

The five year $23 million initiative will focus on water supply and sanitation and disaster preparedness and mitigation in the Mekong Delta and Central Coast.
